Becky Crackel

Becky Crackel is currently completing her 18th year as the Director of the New Caney High School Bluebonnets.  Formerly the Director of the Hargrave High School Drill Team in Huffman, Texas, Mrs. Crackel guided that team to an award-winning status.  They traveled to New Orleans, the Bahamas, and National competition in San Antonio.

In her early years Becky studied under Sharon Stephens, Al Gilbert, Gus Giordano, Frank Hatchett, Stephen Boyd, Debbie Paulson, Susan Barber, and more. ,Mrs. Crackel attended New Caney High School where she was the Drill Team Colonel.  After high school, she attended Sam Houston State University. In college she studied under Sherry Reeves, Dana Nicolay, Pat Grainey, and more.  During college, she started teaching dance at the Texas Academy of Dance and Twirl.  She is the founder of the Texas Elite and Texas Steppers Dance Companies at the Texas Academy of Dance and Twirl and has directed them to numerous awards during the past years. Becky now serves on the Texas Academy executive council as chief advisor.  She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance and Health Education.

During her tenure with the Bluebonnets, Mrs. Crackel has directed her team, officers and soloists to numerous awards including Winners Circle, Best in Class, 1st place soloists as well as Academic Champions.   Under her direction, the teams have traveled to several cities for competition trips to Orlando, New Orleans, San Antonio for National Competition, a cruise to the Bahamas and a Broadway trip to New York.

In 2001 Mrs. Crackel created the NCHS Boys Break Dancing Team.  This is the 10th year for the team and the 9th time for the boys to compete.  They also win numerous awards such as Winners Circle, Best in Class as well as Academic Champions.  Mrs. Crackel has personally won The Biogeme Sportsmanship Award, Curtain Call Outstanding Director Award, Teacher of the Month and was Teacher of the Year Nominee for 2010 and 2011.  Becky’s students have gone on to be Kilgore Rangerettes, Apache Bells, SFA Pom Squad, Texas State Dance Team, Texan Cheerleaders, High School Drill Team Instructors and more. Students who call Becky have expressed their extreme gratitude for the success they have achieved in their lives for having been taught by Becky and have been part of an award winning team.
 
She is married to John Crackel and they have a son, Jordan.
